Sesilie Olava Øie and Pål Tønnesen have launched a special initiative to make Sarpsborg Stadium safer. They are organising a Kampkompis (Match Buddy) event for Sarpsborg 08's home match against KFUM Oslo on Friday.
Øie explains that she loved football as a child but experienced bullying and lacked safe friends to share matchdays with. She now wants to use that experience to prevent others from being in the same situation. The Kampkompis initiative aims to ensure fans who have faced bullying or feel insecure get a safe and inclusive experience in the stands.
The event comes right after Sarpsborg 08 drew 1-1 away to Fredrikstad in their last outing. The team currently sits eighth in the Eliteserien with five points from four games.
Opponents KFUM Oslo are in ninth place, and the two sides last met in the autumn of last year. Sarpsborg 08 won that encounter 2-1 at home.
