Sarpsborg 08's former player Krépin Diatta is set to face Norway in the World Cup. Diatta spent one season with Sarpsborg 08 between 2017 and 2018 and was sold to Club Brugge for 20 million kroner. Today, he plays for Monaco in Ligue 1. Sales manager Alexander Klaussen of Sarpsborg 08 remembers Diatta as a great guy who gave a lot of himself and learned the language quickly. Diatta lived in Klaussen's basement apartment for around ten months and became a part of the family. Klaussen and his wife Marte invited Diatta to dinner and tried to make sure he was doing well. Diatta is not the only World Cup profile who has lived in Klaussen's basement apartment, also Ghana's Christopher Bonsu-Baah and Iraq's Aimar Sher have had their stays there. Diatta is ready for the World Cup and will face Norway on the world's biggest stage. He is really looking forward to the match against Norway. Klaussen still has regular contact with Diatta and took his family to Monaco to visit the football star last year. Diatta gave Klaussen a signed jersey and a full package when they visited him in Monaco. Klaussen's son, Sander, doesn't remember much from when Diatta was in Sarpsborg, but he has been following him closely since and has Diatta as a big hero. Tobias Heintz, who himself broke through the same season as Diatta, already lived in the basement apartment when Diatta arrived. Heintz took the initiative to have Diatta move in with him and the two became quick friends. Heintz gave Diatta a bad habit with frozen pizza and Diatta loved Grandiosa. Diatta is a lightning-fast defender who was once among the most feared wings in the Eliteserien. He is a guaranteed starter on the right back for Senegal and is ready for the World Cup. Diatta has come a long way since he played for Sarpsborg 08 and now has a large network of friends and acquaintances in Norway.
