Sarpsborg 08 won a physical battle against Brno in Marbella on Thursday afternoon. It was a hard game where Sarpsborg 08 stood well. Five minutes into the game, Sarpsborg 08 took the lead after a nice move and good defenders. Sigurd Rosted could rise to the occasion and beautifully headed Sarpsborg 08 in the lead. The first half was marked by many duels and less finesse than normal, but Sarpsborg defended well when needed and ran off to press Brno high. The Czechs had a big opportunity mid-way in the half, but the finish went into the post and out. Towards the end of the half, Rosted's midfielder Utvik was also close. He headed the ball hard after a dead ball - inside the post and out. Very close scoring there, after all! In the second half, Sarpsborg 08 went offensively and pressed Brno high. Ten minutes into the half, it would also result in scoring. Sarpsborg 08 has trained a lot on threats in the back. A nice pass from Sondre Sørli was met after a nice run by Andreas Nibe. Alone with the goalkeeper, the Dane was cold and scored 2-0! A minute later, Noa Williams showed himself. The winger pulled himself in and hammered from distance. Only a brilliant save prevented 3-0. Also, Brno had a couple of opportunities in the second half, but Håvar Jenssen was awake and prevented scoring with fine saves. Sondre Sørli and Bop Gueye also had good opportunities at the end of the game, but without a net result. With that, Sarpsborg 08 won the game 2-0 in Spain.
