Marker & Eidsberg Sparebank and Sarpsborg 08 have invited nearly a thousand children and young people from local clubs to experience the home match against Rosenborg for free. The initiative aims to create a vibrant atmosphere at Sarpsborg Stadion when the team hosts Rosenborg this Sunday.
- We feel it is important and right that we, in our role as a local bank and a steady sponsor, help children and young people attend the match for free, said Raymond Fjeld, marketing chief at Marker & Eidsberg Sparebank.
The bank and the club have invited youth teams from both Indre Østfold and Sarpsborg., Almost 1000 people are coming to the match with us. Six buses are coming from Indre Østfold, said the bank's marketing manager Tone M. Krogh. Alongside transport, they are bringing 200 kilos of sausages and 42 cases of soft drinks to ensure a good experience.
Katrine Nylund from Sarpsborg 08 emphasised the importance of good cooperation with local partners to build a strong supporter base. The match against Rosenborg is a key part of the season run-in for the team, who sit ninth in Eliteserien with 28 points. The team has averaged a goal every match this season, but has struggled for form at home with just one point from their last four matches at Sarpsborg Stadion. Their next fixture after this encounter is a trip to Sandefjord.
Sunday's meeting is a chance for Sarpsborg 08 to avenge a 2-1 away loss to Rosenborg back in April. With Rosenborg currently fifth, this presents a challenging but important fixture for the home side. See how the team stands in the standings after the match.
