Sarpsborg 08 FF booked their place in the next round of the NM Cupen with a comfortable 2-0 away win over Follo on Wednesday. Goals from Daniel Seland Karlsbakk and Sander Sorli secured the victory, providing a welcome boost after a tough run in the league.

Karlsbakk opened the scoring five minutes before half-time. The strike was his seventh goal of the season across all competitions, making him the club's top scorer. Sarpsborg controlled the match after the break, and Sorli sealed the win with a second goal in the 76th minute.

Stefan Billborn said the clean victory and progression were important for the squad's confidence following two consecutive league defeats. The win offers a positive shift for a team sitting ninth in the Eliteserien with 25 points from 21 games, having failed to win in their last five league outings.

Sarpsborg 08 will now await the draw for the next round while turning their focus back to the league. Their next fixture is a key away match against 14th-placed Aalesund on October 11th.
