Sarpsborg 08 FF face Follo in the Norwegian Cup Round of 64 on Wednesday 30 September. The match kicks off at 16:00 local time and offers the team a chance to reverse a poor run of form in the Eliteserien.
Recent results
The team's last outing was a 1-3 home defeat to KFUM Oslo at Sarpsborg Stadion last Sunday. Daniel Karlsbakk scored their only goal from the penalty spot just before half-time. It was Sarpsborg's second consecutive loss, having also fallen 1-3 to KFUM in the league on 20 September. Prior to that, the side recorded three straight draws against Fredrikstad, Vålerenga and Tromsø.
League position
Sarpsborg 08 currently sit ninth in the Eliteserien with 25 points from 21 games. The team has six wins, seven draws and eight defeats, with a goal difference of minus five. Top scorer Daniel Karlsbakk has seven goals in 21 appearances this season.
Cup preparations
The tie against Follo provides an opportunity to build confidence before the next league match away to Aalesund on 11 October. The team's last starting lineup against KFUM Oslo featured Øy in goal, a back four of Niyukuri, Utvik, Løde and Hiim, Sher as the defensive midfielder, with Sørli, Christiansen, Skarsem, Halvorsen and Karlsbakk up front. A win in the cup would be important for breaking the negative trend.
